So I had a pretty sucky morning today, for two main reasons. One should be simple enough to figure out if you read the Argus, the other was more creepily imminent. You see, I slept in today (for a reason we will discuss later) and was looking forward to a quick breakfast while reading another chapter of Harry Potter. But the box of cereal I grabbed turned out to be swarming with ants. So I spent the next hour or so clearing out the hall cupboard and getting rid of all affected food products and killing ants. I discovered that Pledge dusting spray is an effective ant killer. I'm just glad I didn't have to work today, because then I wouldn't have been able to deal with the pests. and just so you realize the enormity of the situation, let me tell you that ants are the only insects that really bother me. Most others I can handle, but ants just disturb me in general, no matter where they are. The only thing worse is centipedes, but they aren't technically insects.
Anyway, I'm only about halfway through Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, due to work and other things getting in the way of reading. Right now I'm struck by the thought that the whole thing seems very much like a soap opera right now, and Harry is kind of dense. We'll see if I change my mind by the end.
This afternoon I finally got started on repairing that mural. It's in the gym that used to belong to the old middle school and now belongs to the elementary school next door. I find it funny that, out of all the places of my youth, this gym is the only place that actually seems bigger to me now. Probably because it's empty and the curtain isn't out, but still.
And what about last night and what about that title? Well, last night after the community band concert Kevin and I joined Amanda and her brother Chris to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Today's title is the short version of my reaction to the movie. I may give a longer one later, but let me just say that in spite of his resemblance to Michael Jackson, Depp's Willy Wonka is awesome and hillarious.

it is very soap-opera-ish for like 350 pages. Very frustrating, if I do say so myself. The end of that whole story line, though, made me laugh. I'll tell you why when you finish the book.
My mother was surprised that that was your grandma, but don't worry, I explained that you probably don't agree. We still have much love for the Kinders, of course!

I feel left-out, but congratulate your movie exploits. Yay!
Ants bother you!? AMEN, SISTER! (Amen makes me laugh because I'm an atheist and I think it's a pretty word. This makes little sense, but meh.)
I work every remaining night this week. We got paid today, I think.
so I wrote a new blog....on homosexuality. I don't know if i made it all that clear, but you should go read it and comment so I can try to make it clearer.
That was a nice run-on sentence.
