Oh, cop on a cell phone!

Well, lets just hope the power doesn’t go off again while I’m posting this. Even though it shouldn’t affect my computer or my connection, it would be annoying. But I’ll get to that later. Let’s start with the good points of today.

I didn’t have to work today, so I finally was able to get out on the bike trail. And I made the happy discovery that my Bible fits perfectly between the handlebars and brake wires on my bike. So it rode along with me and I did my devos in a spot on the trail that feels like the middle of nowhere. I wish I had time to do it like that every day.

This afternoon I went on a rescue mission. Tucker called around 2:00 asking for help picking up his aunt, whose car had died at the cemetery just outside town. So Kevin and I headed out there to discover that not only was my Junior English teacher stranded in the cemetery, so was her elderly mother. So after we drove them back into town we had some ice cream with Tucker at the SDSU Dairy Bar. That place has the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Well, actually, Coldstone is right up there with it, but SDSU ice cream is cheaper. They make it right there where they sell it, and summer is not complete without a stop at the Dairy Bar. But I digress. As we were leaving campus we passed a cop, who was talking on a cell phone as he drove his patrol car, if you can believe it. Now, Tucker is very expressive, and my mind tends to do strange things; so between his evident disgust and my weird brain, we invented a new expletive: cop on a cell phone! Try it sometime. ;)

So now we’ll get to the power outages. After ice cream Kevin and I went to pick up our new glasses from the place in the mall that we go to. And no, I will not be posting or sending any pictures—you’ll just have to wait until the next time you see me in person to see what they look like. It’s quite a change, and it took some convincing to get my mom on board for them, but I really like them. But anyway, we were at the mall to pick them up and get them adjusted and the power went out three times because of the weather. And there’s a fountain right outside the store, so every time the lights went out the fountain stopped and ten came back on again with the lights. It sounded funny.

Oh yeah, and I closed last night at the salad bar. It took a lot longer than it was supposed to, since I had never done it before. But I discovered that it’s a lot easier to see while doing the dishes if I wear my hat backwards.

And the car situation is still complicated, as we took the van in this morning to be repaired. Tonight three of us have to go four different places with one car that only two of us can drive. Complicated, to say the least, but we’ll make it work. It just involves me being dropped off at band practice tonight, which hasn’t happened for several years now. But, it’s certainly better than missing band

Well, I think that’s enough rambling for one post.

Oh, Cop on a cell phone, what is up with the weather these days? I tell ya, I'm about to bust a cell phone on someone's pinky? oh well, I don't know. Ya got new glasses huh? well I will tell you what, I'll trade you picture for picture. ;) j/k learning a few tricks of the trade with work is a very good thing, hopefully you will not be reprimanded for taking more time then possibly alotted. ( I don't know if you really are or not) but you will learn to be faster and more efficient with the closing proceedures as you get more practices.

Take care
Jesse
